The Twin Fin

The Twin Fin
The Twin Fin

Following a multimillion-dollar renovation, Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel reopened as The Twin Fin in November 2022.

“Twin Fin” refers to the two fins on a surfboard. In Hawaii, the birthplace of surf culture, this design is much loved. The name reflects the hotel’s commitment to staying rooted in its community and celebrating Hawaii’s surfing, music, art and other cultural traditions.

Waikiki Beach is directly across Kalakaua Avenue. Nearby are Kapahulu Avenue’s local restaurants, Monsarrat Avenue’s stylish cafés, Honolulu Zoo and Kapiolani Park, making it easy to enjoy both the beach and nature. This is the only oceanfront property in the superior hotel category. Major trolley services stop directly in front of the hotel.

Highlights

① An excellent choice for a classic Hawaiian setting at an attractive price. This is the only oceanfront hotel in the superior category, with no buildings blocking the view. Waikiki Beach is just across Kalakaua Avenue, a one-minute walk away.

② Honolulu Zoo and Kapiolani Park are right next door, and Waikiki Aquarium is within walking distance. The location is ideal for early morning walks or runs. The hotel has a swimming pool, while the breakwater at the beach across the street keeps the water calm, making this a good choice for families with young children.

③ This is the only hotel in the superior category offering an Oceanfront room category. Rates are often comparable to run-of-house rooms at deluxe hotels, making it particularly good value. High-floor Ocean View rooms overlooking Diamond Head also offer expansive views with no buildings directly in front.

④ The hotel is the only property in the superior category with a club lounge. On the 21st floor, it offers a 180-degree panorama of Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head and the Waikiki skyline. Breakfast with this view is a memorable way to start the day, especially for guests seeking an upgraded stay. On the second floor, Tiki’s restaurant and bar offers open-air dining with a relaxed Hawaiian atmosphere.

⑤ For groups such as company trips and educational tours, the hotel offers theLokahi Room, a small meeting room suitable for small to medium-sized meetings. Depending on the number of guests, the club lounge can also be reserved for private parties or after-parties.

Recommended Room Categories

The hotel has 645 guest rooms, including suites. In 2022, guest room and corridor walls were repainted and new furniture was installed. The wide range of categories and generous number of connecting rooms help accommodate diverse needs.

No.1 Oceanfront with Lanai

These rooms make the most of the hotel’s location, with an expansive 180-degree oceanfront panorama from the lanai. Enjoy the atmosphere of Hawaii throughout the day, from morning to evening, and take time to unwind on your private lanai.

No.2 Diamond Head View

Rooms with three permanent beds are surprisingly rare in Hawaii. Most hotels accommodate three guests by adding a rollaway bed to a room with one or two beds. This hotel offers three double beds, an unusual and valuable option in Waikiki. Every room in this category also enjoys Diamond Head views, making it something of a hidden gem.

No.3 Ocean View with Lanai

At many other hotels in the superior category, Ocean View rooms may look toward the sea over nearby buildings. The Twin Fin’s proximity to the beach offers clear, high-quality ocean views. This category is a good choice for guests seeking a sea view on a more moderate budget.

Suite Tour

No.1 Junior Suite

At approximately 47.5 square meters, the spacious Junior Suite includes a sofa and is recommended for guests who want to relax in their room.

Coconut Club

Located on the 21st-floor penthouse level, Coconut Club offers panoramic views of Waikiki Beach, the blue Pacific and Hawaii’s iconic Diamond Head. Enjoy light refreshments and drinks in the only club lounge in the superior hotel category. The sweeping views invite you to linger.

Overview

As the only hotel in the superior category with a club lounge, The Twin Fin offers an upgraded stay at an attractive price. The views from Coconut Club are spectacular—perfect for lingering over a morning coffee. With more than 600 rooms, the hotel can also accommodate groups. It is an excellent choice for guests seeking a memorable stay and good value, and a hotel to watch as it continues to evolve.
